Potty Training

>> 10.28.2010

I've been trying to potty train Maddie for the past 4 days.  The first two days, she wore pull ups all day because mommy had to work and Uncle chris (the babysitter) wasn't cleaning up no accidents!  :)

She's been doing pretty well!  She's gone a total of 28 times!  Mommy is so proud.  For every time she goes in the potty, she gets a heart sticker (which she calls a "mwah!").

Her favorite part is when mommy lets her put the sticker on the chart herself  :)  {her other favorite part is when she gets a treat for every 5 stickers)

She has yet to go number 2 in the potty, but we're working on it  :)

For the past 2 days, Maddie has worn underwear and has only had TWO accidents!  Yay Maddie!

On a "not as exciting" note;  it snowed!  Time to get an electrical blanket and some heavy duty slippers!

Light the Night Walk

>> 10.24.2010

Ever since my aunt was diagnosed (and survived) lymphoma cancer, our family has made it sort of a tradition to do the "Light the Night Walk" in Salt Lake City. It's held every year at Sugarhouse park to help the Lymphoma and Leukemia cancer societies.  It's only about a 2 mile walk, but it's a ton of fun!

It's (obviously) at night and almost everybody is holding a balloon with a little twinkling light inside.  Not to mention how cool our team looked with our awesomely hip glowstick necklaces!

be jealous

We got together before the walk started so we could have a picnic dinner and catch up!  Mums makes like the BEST food you could ever eat, and today was no exception.  She made a southwestern corn chowder, and it.was.amazing.  Now how's that for a picnic?!

After we finished eating, we headed down to the duck pond to give them our leftover croissants.  They weren't a big fan of them, but we sure were a fan of theirs!

trying to call them over

Possibly my favorite of my brother and Maddie

My cousin Maci tought Maddie how to do a cartwheel!  She's still got a few things to learn, but she's close, right?  :)

We didn't get a photo of our whole team this year (it got darker a whole lot faster than it did last year!).  Our team name this year was "the Bench Warmers."  I don't remember our name last year, but I assure you it was equally as cool  :)

The following pictures I got off of our Mums' facebook:

Near the end...or should I say the beginning, April tripped while walking up the hill and fell into the curb.  She hurt herself pretty badly

They called for a wheechair and patched her up

And she finished the walk!

"Our team may be small and we don't raise a lot of money, but we are fun to watch!"

Thanks Papa and Mums for inviting us!!  Can't wait to do it all again next year!  (minus the little mishap)

And here's just a little snapshot of our team last year

Bewitchin' {sneaky peek}

>> 10.18.2010

I did Maddie's Halloween pictures last week and I've just begun to edit them.  I'm loving how they came out so far, so I thought I would share some of them with you!

I'll post more after I finish editing them  :)

(I'm also introducing my NEW watermark!)

Friends

>> 10.17.2010

Where would any of us be if we didn't have friends?  Wether it's one close one, a circle of 5, or almost everyone you meet, we all need friends!

Maddie doesn't have any siblings and only one baby cousin.  I want her to grow up learning the values of friendship, kindness, sharing, and love.  So, right now, she's got friends everywhere!  And she loves all of them  (even if she may not show it all the time).

{more friends and pics to come soon!}

Summer has come and gone...

>> 10.13.2010

It's been a bit crazy around here lately.  Just a little update:  We've moved to Ogden into a 3 1/2 bedroom house.  We are living with my mom, my brother and his wife, my sister and her son.  Yep, that's 7 people in a 3 1/2 bedroom house.  Wish us luck!

We moved out on September 30th and haven't gotten internet until now.  I've been going through withdrawals (yes, I am addicted) but I'm feeling much better now  :)

We've had an amazing Summer and I wouldn't change a thing...well, I might a few people/things, but it was still wonderful!

Maddie loved having her Uncle Chris to come over and play with her on the weekends!  They are so cute together  :)

LOVE summer nature  :)

Maddie explored her creative side this summer and did LOTS of chalk drawings.  She's a little Picasso in the making...

She loves tracing her hands and feet  :)

The result:

She started picking her nose and she's giving me the finger...lovely  :)

When we play outside, it's like a little party.  More like a dance party.

This little girl makes me smile so much and I LOVE the crap out of her!  ha ha  :)
